Banana Leaf

The banana leaves that Daisy Coffins are made from support both the structural design of the coffin and the environment. Based around a sturdy timber frame, the leaf rope retains its shape with a subtle elegance.

Being 100% natural and biodegradable, the banana leaves are removed from the banana plant after fruiting, and these are then delicately hand woven into fine ropes.

Banana leaf is fast growing and freely available, meaning that the plants are continually sustained and only the best materials are selected for the production of Daisy Coffins.

Water Hyacinth

The water hyacinth is a powerful aquatic plant and is woven together to produce a graceful yet resilient addition to the Daisy Coffins collection.

Sometimes referred to as the 'golden plant', in its natural environment the water hyacinth grows rapidly forming a dense mat across water surfaces.

Gathering of water hyacinth by Daisy Coffins has brought many local benefits including clearing water courses and assisting in the maintenance of biodiversity.

The stems of the plant are woven around the frame of the coffin resulting in the careful production of beautiful coffins.
